Nothing is a Myth.

As I write this I put enormous faith on the interdependent nature of energy and mass. Whatever happens, holds a good reason behind for its occurrence. What I have gathered through years of my interaction with people and my real-life experiences is that nothing happens just for the heck of it. We explore, sometimes quite deep inside, to find the truth and then dig deeper to find its origin and relevancy. However, most of us miss the essentially stubborn point, that is, after a certain level, everything is as complex as a ‘zero’. Nature is born with a mind and its rules know no other path than the one that establishes its supremacy.

We are all born with our energy fields and live them. In the processes of life, we tend to maneuver our energy fields a lot. A truth is a truth to the person whose energy field is compatible with it, for the other person it may be false, or between the shades of truth and false. You challenge the highest authority; you challenge yourself and the fun is not in discovering a greater force than you. The fun is in realizing that the biggest powerhouse dwells in your own very DNA. Legends are not created when the energy fields assume mammoth proportions so as to evoke mass reaction, that too in a sustainable and reassuring way. A myth is something that doesn’t exist; it’s a relative reality of the mind whose energy fields bear self-doubts.

You are the light and you are the shadow. You have the capacity to absorb the world’s energy in the way you want. Get ignited or get burnt. Get a life or plea for one. Focus on the enormous reservoir of energy lying inside you or pass your life bitching about the achievements of others. We are born with five essential senses to know the world around us and nature has more than five senses to overpower us in the times of a head-on collision. Put faith in your abilities, identify the soul within and you can explore senses that defy ordinary capacities. Know the world from inside out and keep the methods simple. Start the celestial journey from the centrum of your soul and you shall never be defeated. Oh did I mention defeat, sorry, it’s a relative word too.

Missing the Buzz... Here I am.

I am writing this post after many months; and I must establish that by the end of April 2011, for the unfathomed reasons, I had the gut instinct that I may be kept denuded of my virtual social life for the weeks to come. Professional commitments come in the unyielding coats and, like most of the toffee-nosed bosses, demand unflickering attention. Initially I felt bad for now adhering to my daily ritual of blogging, then the craving diminished as the time passed. When time decides to move on, it virtually gives horns to your internal processors, complimented with a comfortable amnesia, selective of course.

It was an usual morning about a week back and I could experience a sudden jolt in my telencephalon. What the heck I was doing all these months? There had been moments of ecstasy, randomness, accomplishments, failures, humdrum and what not? Why was I careless enough to keep my readers devoid of their daily dose? Why not spread the whiff of my experiences to the folks? To observe is the bliss and to disseminate the knowledge is divine.

It is hard to extract some slice of life from the over-congested schedule of my daily life as a doctor; but it had to be done. And as I write this small piece, I feel content. I feel like a child who just found an uninhabited jungle of mango trees, with bunch of ripe mangoes hanging from every branch. The more I write the more I know myself. To discover the untouched facets of your mind and soul is indeed an experience. The more you discover something precious, the avarice increases exponentially. You keep on exploring till you start nearing the kernel of your existence, your innerself, in its purest form. I make a promise to all my friends, colleagues and readers that I will continue to write till the time I think my rendezvous with life bears a potential to be shared.

Frozen Frowns

They say that body mass decreases when a person dies due to flight of soul from the body. They say some theories have crawled to the point where this has been proved in the labs. What I want to ask, whether emotions (e.g. love, faith, anger etc) also have measurable weight? The abstractionism is mysterious, as it is not visible. The abstractionism has powers (you would agree, how else we can explain the evolution biggest of history changing events from a fit of faith, love, anger or other thoughts). My point is why the powerful has chosen to remain invisible?

Forgotten faith leads to forbidden fear. Fear is the recipe for disaster. In every disaster lies a potential escape. To hunt for the escape is meant for the intelligent intuition. Intuition is the offspring of belief, intelligent intuition eventually born by intelligent belief. What is an intelligent belief?

A needle is a needle when viewed from a certain angle. It can cause you optical illusion of a small dot, if seen from another angle. The perceived length of the needle depends on angle of viewing; for some viewers, it is shorter, for some, it is longer. Which angle are you viewing your life with? No matter how much potency and efficacy has been bestowed over your life, if your viewing angle is wrong, you will perceive it as a blemished dot that hardly exists.

They say before any unaccustomed happening that is going to affect us, our body’s senses react in aberrant way. And we don’t become aware of the same, until it happens. How strange? How do our body’s deepest senses know of the impending future? Are things pre-planned? What is the role of brain in our bodies then? Don’t you think that most of the sights are illusionary and most of the thoughts are misleading? What blindfolds us?

My Favourite 10 Films With Medical Theme

1. Angels in America (2003), a fantastic HBO production that explores AIDS in the early 1980s. The Barbarian Invasions (2003), a French-Canadian comedy-drama that looks at the end-of-life decisions of a patient with terminal cancer.

2. Dirty Pretty Things (2002), a peep into the lives of immigrants in London, one of whom is a physician from Nigeria.

3. The Painted Veil (2006), Set in China in 1925, the movie tells the story of the marriage of a young London socialite and a bacteriologist living in Shanghai.

4. Ikiru (1952), a Japanese masterpiece that explores how a bureaucrat finds meaning in life after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.

5. Miss Evers’ Boys (1997), a screenplay that explores how racism and research intersected in the United States from the 1930s to the early ’70s.

6. Motorcycle Diaries (2004), a beautiful portrayal of the real and metaphorical journeys that medical students often blindly follow.

7. The Story of Louis Pasteur (1936), a melodramatic black-and-white biopic that reminds us how far we’ve come in terms of understanding and controlling infectious diseases.

8. Traffic (2000), a powerful story of how the illegal drug trade affects three individuals.

9. Yesterday (2004), a South African film that puts a face on the global AIDS pandemic.

10. The Doctor (1991), Based on the book A Taste of My Own Medicine. William Hurt plays an arrogant surgeon who is diagnosed with throat cancer. As he begins to see medicine, hospitals, and doctors from the patient’s perspective, he learns that there is more to being a doctor than doing procedures and writing prescriptions.

Top 10 Problems That Nurses Face

1. The venepuncture site (canula insertion point) gets blocked again.

2. The patient asks too many questions about finer nuances of the disease (The nurse invariably thinks about the silent glance and understanding gesture that the patient portrayed when senior doctor was taking rounds…. That was fine, but what happened to him now? Is he testing the authenticity of my medical degree? That’s fine. But please stick to the syllabus).

3. The patient seems to have a fascination with pressing the nurses call button (What lies in a reason?).

4. The little kid in the ward defies the boundaries of producible sound while crying inconsolably; and does not succumb to the usual baits.

5. A doctor is taking ward rounds and another doctor demands the attention of the same nurse for a different patient.

6. You have 5 trauma patients for whom you have to check vital parameters every 30 minutes. And it’s the busiest night shift already.

7. The anxious patient suffering with Hepatic Encephalopathy with Sub Acute Intestinal Obstruction is adamant at taking the Ryle’s tube out. He has done it 3 times in past 6 hours and you are mumbling divine hymns.

8. Before you take the over from the preceding duty nurse, you are called by a anxious looking resident doctor (its his first day of joining) in the expectation of getting a thorough orientation of the ward, the hospital and the life. Predicament can’t get louder.

9. Though you have finished with the Herculean forms and draconian quality assurance paper-works, you get thumbs down for that not-so-neat handwriting by never-pleasing horde of quality assurance guys.

10. The patient complaining to doctor that ward nurses seldom listen to him (though you religiously put every inch of an effort to help the guy in disguise).

The Convulsing Confusions

How many thoughts can wander in a human mind in a minute?

How are thoughts related to intuitions?

How are intuitions related to outcomes?

If a pleasure causes mental fatigue, is it worth it?

Which angle are you viewing your life with?

How do you allow trespassing of your mind? Is it controllable?

How does mind harbors miseries and pleasantries in isolated existence?

If the soul has a life, what constitutes it?

Why do we seek divine intervention when we are unhappy?

What is the basis of programmed release of undecipherable happenings in our lives?

Do Dreaming and Day Dreaming have a common basis? What controls the same?

What are divine sensations? How can those be achieved?

Does a thought carry measurable weight?

Light is the basis of life, energy is the basis of light, what is the basis of energy?

What is more logical, life or after-life?

Will this ever happen?

When humans would interact with birds, animals and plants freely.

When we would just require supply of light to get energy. No forced necessity of meals or water.

When currency would be an outdated reality & every luxury of life would be equally available to every living organism without any costs.

When inter-planetary travel would be a norm.

When there would be no diseases in the world. Genetic assortment would be possible to tackle for every illness even before birth. And this would be as easy as operating Microsoft Word.

When weathers would be customizable.

When we would have a defined control over our subconscious.

When the break of dawn & dusk would be at the mercy of a remote control, one for every individual.

When we could turn the environment into a 6-D reality by mere thought.

When we could absorb all the required knowledge by attaching a pen drive and pasting the data in our body’s hard disc. This will render the concept of IQ archaic.

When the birth and death would no longer be the masters, but the slaves.

When the intensity of smiles would be measurable.

When anything fake would no longer exist.

When souls will talk to each other, anytime.

My Supply Of Red-Bull

I love to do the activities that I have enlisted below after a lot of mind-work.

1) Performing surgeries. Nothing can match the thrill & satisfaction that I derive from performing surgeries. The moment I see an OT (Operation Theatre), my catecholamines go berserk.

2) Kneeling down to Lord Krishna in awe-inspiring admiration. I visit Vrindavan every week and on exceptions, I make it a point to visit a Lord Krishna shrine in the vicinity. The poised trance effuses a lot of canalized energy, which is the ignition fuel of my soul’s journey in the ordinary lanes of life.

3) To listen to songs. I love to feel the melodies and it really relaxes a lot. My all time favorite being, ‘Raah mein unse mulakat ho gayi’ from Vijaypath (A Bollywood Film)

4) To call my friends and have a light time together. I am sure few things can beat the thrill of meeting old folks and have a dream time together.

5) Watching old photographs and taking a stroll in the orbit of preserved memories. I am sure all of us love to do this.

6) Learning new internet and web related applications. I know the difference between Blogger and Tumblr. Want more?

7) Watching a film or a cricket match (whatever is readily available)

8) Cooking a dish. It’s in my blood. My father had a florid flair for cooking and I got the dominant genes.

9) Checking facebook updates of my folks. Who dislikes facebook anyways? (And if anyone dislikes, who cares for him anyways?)

10) Organizing myself and my work place. This is something which comes in high priority (though has been mentioned at the bottom of the list); I believe organizing helps you in discovering the facets of your life and yourself that you were unaware of. It’s like finding your occult power and feeling its potential impact. Its like kinetic meditation.

Lesser known facts about dreams

Life is an epic and dreams are hidden directions, pointed at you by the biggest genius, your subconscious, to take help you have a smooth sashay towards your destiny.

Were you aware of these facts about DREAMS?

1. Dreams prevent development of psychosis.

2. Toddlers do not dream about themselves until around the age of 3.

3. When you are snoring, you are not dreaming.

4. Even blind people are capable of dreaming.

5. Within 10 minutes of your waking, 90% of the dream is gone. You are unlikely to recall that.

6. Dreams contain familiar faces; it’s very unlikely that you would ever see an unfamiliar face in your dream.

7. Many of us dream in black and white (A full 12% of sighted people dream exclusively in black and white).

8. People who have quit smoking, alcohol or other substance abuse are more likely to be having vivid dreams than they would normally experience.

9. Dreams storm you with the sense of external stimuli. Many of us feel thirsty, afraid, writhed, detached, depressed in our dreams and at that moment the feeling is true.

10. If you are awakened out of REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, you are more likely to remember your dream in a more vivid way than you would if you woke from a full night sleep.

11. Vivid dreams help you learn.

12. Sleep paralysis is a reality. A person experiences sleep paralysis when the brain awakes from the REM sleep cycle, but the paralysis state remains. The person is conscious, but unable to move.

13. Males & females dream differently. In fact, it is believed that around 70% of the characters in a man’s dream are other men. On the other hand, a woman’s dream contains almost an equal number of men and women.

What lies in a thought?

What lies in a thought? Someone becomes a monarch and someone a slave, though blessed with near equal set of neurons. Someone sees the darkness as the color of comfort; and for someone even a small flicker of light is a blinding. Someone guzzles nectar with little realization of its flavor; and for someone water has the greatest taste.

For someone, eating a green shoot from a growing plant is sin; and for someone savoring butchered flesh with gleaming silver cutlery is a necessity of life. Someone has lost all sheen for heaps of gold; and for someone a rugged old coin is priceless. Someone throws a sneeze and the world somersaults; and someone stretches horizons of hope around by silently and ardently combating with diffuse metastasis of underlying malignancies. Someone is worshipped and adored with glowing verve, yet has a hollow inner self; and someone looming alone in the darkest corner of bizarre aloofness flaunts the radiance of intrinsic contentment.

Someone is content in unsighted emulation; and someone is authoritatively innovative and yet hungry for more. Someone gets a thought and stands on his feet to change the world; and someone finds it difficult to tune in with the changing world. Someone has the grit to beard the lion in his den; and someone is frightful of his own shadow.

What lies in a thought? The clout to illuminate millions of lives; and the potency to induce a hardhearted sabotage. The choice is yours. You are blessed with an omnipotent armor, the thought. Use it and see the world your way.

The quintessence of a woman

A woman annihilates the fretful spurt of sorrows. Electrifies and enkindles with egregious energy. Blessed with great capacity to feel love and greater capacity to cope up with pain. There is in every true woman's heart, a flicker of divine fire with cadence, which lies quiescent in the shining dawn of prosperity, but which ignites up and blazes furiously in the sinister hour of hard times.

A woman is God’s simplified portrayal of nature, enveloped in skin & soul. A woman has different colors of conscience, different hues of minds and different streaks of sentiments all amalgamated in divine proportions. As innocent as the whitest small cloud floating with glee in the enormous sky. A guardian angel in the road, helping the elders and guiding the toddlers with unweaving attention. Jack of all trades and master of many.

Bejeweled by the imperturbable halo of mercy and compassion. The self assured equilibrium amidst the mid of chaos garlands the essence of womanhood. Hides swarms of suffering beneath the superficial gleam of smile. The combatant in disguise, the hermit in holy elation. Woman is a magic potion for mammoth malevolence. When a woman comes to her glass, she does not employ her time in making herself look more advantageously what she really is, but endeavors to be as much another creature as she possibly can. Woman is the allegory of woven beams of hope and help.

Woman's mind
Oft' shifts her passions, like th'inconstant wind;
Sudden she rages, like the troubled main,
Now sinks the storm, and all is calm again.

Dark side of the DAY

Yesterday is unyielding. It leaves you in a lull, full of eerie emptiness. It stirs you and shreds you in slices. Yesterday is a shadow. Yesterday fails you. It is a vast void with a poignant poise, a recluse in disguise. Yesterday is apathetic. Yesterday is a transcendental torrent of the crushed conscience, beaten brain, deserted desires and sulked soul. Yesterday is a cocoon of crusading crossovers. Yesterday is insular. Yesterday is self-seeking. A zombie of burnt zest. A sinus of numbness.

Tomorrow is a travesty. A Masquerade. A marauding mirage. An itinerary of illusions. A school of hard knocks. Tomorrow is a blur. A whirlpool of random trajectories. Tomorrow is a ruse. A greedy gimmick. An anuclear orbit with zillions of particulates. A blatant brush with the bizarre and the barren. A roar of the unknown. A castle in the vacuum. A desolate delusion. A plethora of programmed pauses. A perplexed and arrhythmic perspective. A fake bystander.

Today adores you till you keep spiraling the hallucinating grooves of life. Today is beautiful. Today is the only constant besides death. Today is your soul mate. It is the flowerbed of your existential reality. Today is hydra-headed and argos-eyed. Celebrate the buoyancy of today. Today is you.

Take a Sabbath, its pink sunshine all over. Its today !!

Berserk Beauty

Do you have to sluice the cerebral fluid to know what is beautiful in its appearance and what is not? I am sure, not. Your senses know the difference between sensuous and boring, pleasant and unappealing; within microseconds the image forms in your retina and perceived by your subconscious (what is superconscious?). How our mind does appreciate the difference of pleasant and unpleasant sights? Does it have to do with acquired knowledge or compulsory gimmick of genetic assortment? Have you ever wondered over the fact that a person is called beautiful and the other, ugly even while both of them are blessed with largely similar facial attributes? Difference lies in minimal disparity in the shape of smile, size of eyes, and pattern of hair, which is blessed with birth and only the creator knows the cause of blessing the variations. Ok, we have different attributes but why our mind perceives someone with a broad nose to be ugly, someone with a low forehead less appealing, someone with less luminous skin as unlikable? Why not the other way round?

The deviation of a smile can spell a doom if gone the wrong way, but why? Why rough skin is repulsive and lustrous skin is captivating? Are our brains fitted with the some mystic and unyielding encrypted equations that force us to accept something to be beautiful if it matches certain standards, which are predefined (that is by birth, or may be beyond that) and not in our control?

Why hadn’t the creator made our brains to react indifferently to everybody with regards to physical attributes? Why do we have to categorize people and things into beautiful, average and ugly? We, as humans, vociferously advocate the law of equality for mankind, but what notions were taken into account by the creator when the souls were being enveloped by bodies? What do you think of this draconian yet divine law that forms the basis of obstinate inequality? When some of us hold the broad vision of not being judgmental and biased by the external aspects of the people and things, do we behave in ungodly way? Or by doing this we challenge the restrictions sewn in our genes and let our spirit fights off the innate impunity, for which we are not responsible? What can clean the Augean stables that harbor the jungle of our chromosomes?

Medicine and Music, Malady and Melody...

It seems fascinating to fathom that a lot of artists have used medical jargons / themes / conditions in their compositions. And these songs have not been washed down the memories; even today young folks could be seen humming these immortal tunes. It can be attributed to the mystical nature of occurrence of human body, mind and things associated with them that such jargons have been used time and again. When Pink Floyd, the giants of rock, gave birth to ‘Take thy stethoscope and walk’, a lot of emotional pools were flooded. The fact that one of the best heard and looked after band used the phrase; it stirred a flurry of feelings and in no time a lot of songs started mentioning medical lingo.

Girl, you have no faith in medicines by The White Stripes, Spinal Meningitis by Ween, Brain Stew by Green Day, The Jack by AC/DC (This song is about a venereal disease - "The Jack" is Australian slang for Gonorrhea), Spasticus Autisticus by Ian Dury and The Blockheads, Why does it hurts when I pee by Frank Zappa created their share of ripples and the trend immortalizes. An ordinary person related any medical connection with a disease, in turn with doom, suffering and majority of such songs imitate acerbic feel. As medical professionals, most of us can better understand the psyche used behind creating these anthems and the hollow energy doesn’t suck us as much as it does an ordinary individual. Music permeates our daily lives. It graces our weddings and funerals, fills our elevators and waiting rooms, and accents the messages advertisers want us to hear. It can be incidental or inspirational, sensitive or severe, torrid or timid, hilarious or horrifying. Amid all this remarkable variation, the fundamental intent of the music in our lives never changes: music is communication, intended to carry a message and to influence our responses to that message. “Message-songs” have served as elements of successful, multimodal interventions, such as prenatal care promotion efforts in Mexico and water hygiene education programs in Bolivia. It would be fine if more songs are created with use of medical words & messages that have inspirational, thought provoking and hopeful vibrancy. Indian composers have by far restrained from using this genre and subliminal attempts remind us of twisted euphemism of malaria (remember lovearia??)

If you have heard the song ‘Speechless’, a nice song sung by Lady Gaga for her father with the hopes he'll be convinced to seek the medical treatment he needed
for his heart condition, you could truly feel the colossal power emanating from the ruthlessly rich energy and there are high chances you would start feeling extra-responsible for your loved ones. Lets not make music part of our lives, but lets make our life part of music and feel the divine rhythm with every playing note.
